Mastory Learner is made for children, so we keep data collection to a minimum and explain it in plain language. This page describes what information Mastory Learner handles and why.
Accounts for grown-ups
Mastory Learner does not ask children for their own email address. Saving stories requires a parent or guardian to create an account with a grown-up email and password. We send a verification email before full access to saved stories.
What we store
When you choose to save a story, we store the story text, the idea you typed, the reading questions, and the age range, length, and theme you selected. Saved stories are kept using Google Firebase (Firestore) and tied to your account so other people cannot browse your library. You can delete any saved story at any time from your library, or delete your whole account from the Account page.
How stories are created
To write a story, the idea you enter is sent to our story service, which uses Google's Gemini AI to generate the text and questions. Please do not type personal information into story ideas, names, schools, addresses, or anything private.
Keeping things safe
Before any story is generated, Mastory Learner's Safety Guard blocks ideas that are not child-safe. Saved stories are subject to security rules that validate what can be stored and only allow the signed-in account owner to read or delete them.
For parents and teachers
We encourage grown-ups to supervise children's use of Mastory Learner and to review saved stories. For details on what is and isn't allowed, see our Community Guidelines and For Grown-ups page.
Changes
We may update this policy as Mastory Learner grows. Any changes will appear on this page.
